Japan Studies Association of Canada (JSAC) 2006 Conference
THOMPSON RIVERS UNIVERSITY Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada Thursday, 0ctober 12 - Sunday, October 15, 2006 The Japan Studies Association of Canada (JSAC) plays a unique role to foster awareness of Japan in Canada and to promote peaceful and multilateral international relations. JSAC is a major promoter of Japan Studies in Canada. The theme for this year’s conference is Japan at our doorstep and in the changing global community. It will highlight how Japan and a changing Japanese society have influenced communities at local, regional and global scales. These communities not only pertain to social organization, but to social interaction as well. The conference will examine changing communities in the past and present, and from the local scale to regional and international scales. Panels will focus both on communities in Japan and abroad. They will examine such themes as local communities, international communities, language communities and historic communities. Actes du Congrès annuel d’études japonaises (ACEJ) 2006, 12-15 Octobre 2006. Vingt-six communications furent soumises pour colliger les actes du congrès.
