Back of photograph: This photo was taken on the 27th Sept. 16. Compare with other photos & note the trees - state of houses roads etc. bld Batter positions can be seen just behind the front line trench. Les Boefus & Morval were taken about this time & the Huns had a good many forts, trenches & strong poins in front of the Village which have caused us a lot of trouble. Note the small trench aroudn the Cemetary at the bottom of the photo. Capt. J.V. Routley
