Instructions: Goal: Collect and analyze qualitative data using a classroom build data set (See Assignment #1). Objective: Students will contribute to a classroom data set by uploading and sharing their fieldnotes from Assignment 1 to conduct a preliminary analysis by noting common themes, patterns, and differences. Instructions: Now that you have taken field notes, prep these field notes to submit to the classroom data set for analysis. The first step will be to ensure your field notes have no identifying information (such as using specific names, addresses, etc.). Submit this revision of your field notes to the instructor so that they may create a data set into one easily accessible file. Once the data set is ready, students will analyze the document and code for patterns, themes, and oddities. Students will write up their findings using their discipline’s citation guidelines and adhere to the parameters set forth by their instructors to meet the requirements for that course level. Qualitative analysis, basic principles of coding, review of discipline's formatting and citation guidelines. Format Requirements: Parameters should be discussed and agreed upon by the class and meet the writing requirements for the designated course level and may refer to that discipline's citation formatting and guidelines.
